Theatre of a Renegade Yogi is Megan's combined practice of teaching of oki-do Yoga and butoh dance.. with a performance outcome.
Oki-do Yoga is a deep & playful form using a dynamic range of sound and motion to elasticise, empty and center the mind body as a preparation for metamorphic Butoh performance: a universal dance where one is moved by the essence of boundless sensorial imagination motif & matter. Both Butoh and Oki-do Yoga originated autonomously in Japan and both have travelled world wide and become universal forms with respect to their Japanese lineage.
Performance installations are made to ignite the imagination where elemental images flow through the body: evoking memory... the subconscious.. transcending the cultured self.. where the body exists in a state of poetic rupture...
